Unified Messaging users can configure their e-mail client for Web View access. See Configure Microsoft Outlook or Configure GroupWise.
Users must also configure their Web browser for Web View access. See Configure Web Browser and Install Security Certificates.
Web View can also be used with Microsoft Office Communicator. Contact your system administrator to have your Communicator configured for Web View.
Ensure that you have the following components installed on your PC before you configure your e-mail or Web browser for Web View:
One of the following
e-mail clients: Microsoft Outlook 2010/2013/2016. You can also access
the Web View from Microsoft Office Communicator.
Note: If you use an unsupported
e-mail client, you can access the UM features through your Web browser.
Current web browser with cookies enabled.
A standard media player (Windows Media Player version 11.0 or later is recommended).
A TIFF or PDF viewer to view and print fax messages. Your administrator will inform you which application you require. For TIFFs, you can use the Microsoft Paint or Photo Viewer application included with the Windows operating system. For PDFs, download the Adobe Acrobat Reader from the internet.
Notes:
Apple QuickTime Player is not supported for viewing TIFF files; do not configure it to display them.
Windows 7 has some limitations displaying faxes in TIFF format. When opening TIFF files using Photo Viewer or Microsoft Paint from Windows 7, you may see horizontal black lines running through the image. Opening the image in other applications does not display horizontal black lines running through the image. However, saving the image using Photo Viewer or Microsoft Paint from Windows 7 will save the horizontal black lines permanently to the image. This is a known issue in Microsoft Windows 7 Photo Viewer and Microsoft Paint.
To prevent QuickTime Player from displaying TIFF files:
Open QuickTime Player.
Click Edit > Preferences > QuickTime Preferences.
In the first drop-down list, select the Browser tab.
Click MIME Settings....
Scroll down the Name column and locate the .tif and .tiff file name extensions. Clear the check boxes for these items.
Click Save.
In order for these changes to take effect, you must close and then re-open your web browser.
A sound card in your PC.
A network connection that allows access to the corporate network (where the NuPoint Unified Messaging server resides).
PC speakers or headset for listening to messages via PC.
The following limitations and configurations are required in browsers to enable messages to play from the Embedded Player:
In Internet Explorer the Compatibility View Settings must be cleared/turned off.
In Chrome, the progress bar does not move when the message is playing. This is a JPlayer limitation.
In Safari, the Stop button behaves as pause, and the progress bar is not displayed.
The NuPoint system IP address needs to be added as Trusted in Safari. Below are steps to add as "Trusted Sites":
Open PWG from the Safari browser in your PC.
Click Continue, on the Security Certificate pop-up.
Select Always trust <site name> when connecting to <IP> check-box.
Click Continue.
Enter your PC Password,
and click Update Settings.
Now the NuPoint System has been added as a Trusted site in your Safari browser.
